  • Question
Will putting my billing zip code when purchasing something, will it inform my parents that I bought something online?
    Community Answer
If the service does not have your parent's email or phone number, then no. If you are still concerned, get a PO box or have it delivered it to a trusted friend's house.
  • Question
I need to buy something from a store, but my parent's think it's unnecessary. I can't go on the roads alone. Any idea how I can sneak away if they take me to the mall where the store is?

    Community Answer
Tell them that you are using the restroom. If they follow you, try to persuade them to leave. Stay at the bathroom door until they stop looking. Carefully sneak to the shop and get it. If you have a hoodie, hide it in the pockets. You can also ask a friend to get it, if that is easier.
  • Question
I have to go to school so I won't be able to constantly check the mail and I don't have anyone who would drive me there... what do I do?
    Madi
    Community Answer
You could ask a neighbour to check on the mail, or if your parents find out about your order in any way, a good excuse is "I bought it for a friend, they'll give me back the money." This should take their minds off the situation.
  • Question
My mom doesn't allow me to walk that far on my own. She sends me out to the bus stop ridiculously early, but had life360. What is the best fake GPS I can use to hide me being at dollar tree?
    Community Answer
Leave your phone at a friend's house, or just turn off GPS tracking. You probably won't get a GPS faker on iOS anytime soon, but if you really need it and you have Android, then just do a search on the play store.
  • Question
What is the engraving mentioned on the Apple website?
    Community Answer
An engraving is a piece of text you can opt to have on certain Apple products when buying brand new, though this can make it harder to sell in the future should you choose to do so.
  • Question
Does the name of the purchase show up, like for example if I buy a phone online with my parent's credit card: will it show that I bought a iPhone worth (how much even)?
    Community Answer
It may or may not. It depends on the card company and what settings your parents may have. Regardless, it will still show up on their credit card statement, so try to avoid using a debit/credit card that your parents have access to.
  • Question
How much is a shipping fee when I place an order?
    Community Answer
It depends on the item and the postage service. Here in the UK we have first and second classes. First Class costs more but means your item has priority over second class items, so if there is a busy day, your item will get priority. You will see the shipping amount when confirming the payment.
  • Question
If I am ordering something online and I use my email for order conformation but use my dad's credit card, can he see the purchase? I am also doing it through PayPal.
    Community Answer
The purchase will show up on the PayPal statement and the credit card statement. Your dad will also probably notice that he is suddenly missing money, so it's not a good idea.
  • Question
Is it illegal to buy stuff without my parents’ permission if I use my own credit card?
    Community Answer
As long as you use your own money and aren't buying anything illegal (like drugs), there is nothing legally wrong with this. Your parents' reaction would be another matter.
  • Question
I’m trying to buy something on a website, and I can’t let my mom see the purchase on my card. The website doesn’t have gift cards. Can she see it on Apple Pay? How do I stop her from seeing it?
    Community Answer
Apple Pay doesn't record purchase history. However, the charge will appear on your card, and there's nothing you can do about that. If there is another website that accepts gift cards, use it. You could also ask a friend to buy it for you.
