QuestionCan I still use my phone after I cancel my phone service?Community AnswerYes it will work on wifi but you won't be able to make calls or send messages.
-
QuestionIs it possible to keep my number?Community AnswerTalk to the company to which you want to switch. Many will help you transfer your old number to their service. Don't cancel your old number before you're ready to switch.

QuestionWhat does it cost to end a contract?Community AnswerIt depends on your device and specific plan. You can go to AT&T's website for a list of early termination fees.
-
QuestionCan I select another phone number in place of old AT&T number?Community AnswerYou can port your old number to another carrier or you can ask for a new number from the carrier you choose. Keep in mind, all those years of registering for anything from your mortgage payments to health service providers to your children's emergency contact numbers will all have to be updated individually. This is why I chose to keep my old number when I switched. The hassle of sales and unwanted calls is not necessarily going to get better with a new number. Phone numbers are "recycled" through different carriers all the time, so that new number could also come packed with its own annoying telemarketers or bill collectors that are looking for the previous owner to that number.

QuestionHow do I cancel AT&T wireless on behalf of a customer who has passed away?Community AnswerUnless you are included on the deceased person's plan, you will need a Death Certificate. This will have to be presented in person at an AT&T store. All charges after the stated date of death will be waived.
