    Expert Answer
Don’t let that discourage you, kids sometimes just need a bit more inspiration! Consider bringing out a board game or, if you're a babysitter and consistently babysit for one family, have an activity or project that you work on every time you see the kids. For instance, you can build the ultimate fort with blankets and pillows, create an obstacle course, or make up your own card game.
  • Question
As a kid, can I use these methods?
    Community Answer
You can definitely use these methods to entertain either yourself or other kids.
  • Question
What should I do with kids (who love to play outside) when it's raining?
    Community Answer
Instead of trying to suggest activities for them, ask them what they would like to do. If they still want to play outside, try to figure out if there's way you can play any outdoor games inside. If not, try to think of something unusual that they might find fun, like building a fort and watching movies inside.
  • Question
What do I do if a child is too young to understand games?
    Community Answer
Try simpler ones, such as a game of Simon says, or try coloring with them. You can also try reading to them or building with their toys until they are old enough to grasp the rules of playing games.
  • Question
My parents are having a party and I have been given the responsibility of entertaining kids age 5, 9, and 12. (I'm a teen.) What should I do?
    Community Answer
If you have Netflix or Hulu or some sort of streaming service, put on a show or a movie they'd all like. If not, maybe get everybody to play a board game. Make sure you know of food allergies and have snacks ready like some fruit and graham crackers or chips.
  • Question
I'm trying to entertain 5 kids with different interests. The only thing all of them agree on is liking Minecraft. Should I entertain them by playing Minecraft?
    Community Answer
Sure, that's a good idea. You can also find some Minecraft-themed videos on YouTube to watch with them.
  • Question
How can I entertain a child when we're out on a walk?
    Community Answer
Play guessing games like I Spy. Make them use their imagination. Ask them what they think people are doing in the different houses you're walking by. You can also ask the child about school or whatever else you think they might want to talk about.
  • Question
What games can entertain children in an evacuation center?
    Abbotheeggo
    Community Answer
Any fun game should work. Try the name game or I Spy. Make sure to distract them.
  • Question
After school, I have the responsibility of looking after my siblings. We don't have any board games and one is too young for pens and scissors. I can't let them watch TV all evening!
    Community Answer
Go run around outside, play simple games (i.e. Simon Says or Red Light Green Light), color or draw with crayons, "paint" outside with water and paintbrushes (or have a water fight outside if it's a nice day!), or make a large fort in the living room with blankets and pillows and read stories. Go to the local park, go bike riding or do a treasure hunt.
  • Question
What to do if I do not have a child?
    Community Answer
You can offer to babysit a relative's or close family friend's child for an hour or two and entertain them if you'd like.
