QuestionHow do I pray to God to cure my depression?Community AnswerIf you actually have clinical depression, there's absolutely nothing wrong with seeing a therapist for it. Think of it in the same way as praying to be healed from physical illness—God might choose to work a miracle, but the goal of prayer isn't to have all of your problems miraculously fixed, and miraculous healings are not always part of God's plan. Depression is a real mental illness, and there's nothing wrong with getting help for it in an "earthly" way. But of course you can ask God for the strength to help you through it.
