  • Question
    Should I write a letter?
    Community Answer
A letter is always sweet because it shows your emotional input from the heart. Something made by you that expresses your relationship and what you like about him/her. Don't make it formal though, try to be in your comfort zone and say what you want to say. Maybe you could decorate a jar and put little notes in it. Each note could be something you like about this person or remind them of specific memories or occasions you have spent together.
  • Question
What should I give my boyfriend if I don't have much money?
    Community Answer
You can always make something from what you have at home. For example, you could take a jar, fill it with his favorite candy, and decorate the outside with what you have. You could also make him dinner instead. If you can't find something to make or give to him, just tell him "I'm a little short on money right now." He should understand.
  • Question
What if I have been giving him stuff but haven't been getting anything in return?
    Community Answer
This could be happening for a few reasons. Is he tight on money? Is he saving up for something? Maybe he just hasn't thought that you might like something back? It's funny how often people don't realize what you feel should be obvious. The best thing to do in any situation like this where you don't understand something is to just ask. Communication is so important for any good relationship to work. Don't accuse, just ask, "I've been getting you presents, but you haven't given me anything. I'm not mad, but what's up with that?" After all, no one would really know the answer to that in the end but him. And telling him how you feel will help him better understand you. It also helps to not hang expectations on your gifts, otherwise they're conditional obligations and not gifts.
  • Question
What would be a good gift for someone who is in a long distance relationship?
    Community Answer
Consider a remembrance gift, such as a keychain or necklace. You can also exchange framed photographs.
  • Question
What should I get my boyfriend if I'm in a long distance relationship?
    Community Answer
Since you're long distance, keep mailing costs in mind. A voucher for services or goods might be a good thing. Or have something sent to his house, such as a tool, a dinner or something for his favorite hobby.
  • Question
What if they don't buy me a gift?
    Community Answer
Discuss it beforehand, but not in a pressuring way. Simply ask: "Do you want to do gifts?" It easy any confusion and potential tension that might come along with a relationship in such an early stage.
  • Question
What should I give if the girlfriend and boyfriend don't know much about each other?
    Community Answer
It is highly unusual for someone outside of the actual relationship to give something for the couple at the one-month stage, as the relationship is still very new and who knows what might happen? It's almost pushy or nosy to give a gift. If you really want to be nice, shout them to a dinner you're going to be at as well, or take them out for coffee and cake. In each case, you can get to know both of them better as a couple, and you all get to have a fun time. Just don't be too involved in the relationship's progress, as it's their business how it is going, not yours.
  • Question
What can I make for a one month anniversary?
    Community Answer
Cards can be a really simple gift, but if you want to be more crafty then make origami things or draw or paint something that you know he/she will like or you both like.
  • Question
Is “one month” exactly four weeks, or is it the same day—e.g. the 12th—of the next calendar month?
    Tom De Backer
    Top Answerer
It's the same day of the next calendar month. January and October of this year have nearly five weeks, and only February has exactly four weeks (at least for three years out of four), so the rule of thumb 'one month = four weeks' doesn't really hold up. A month is one of twelve sections of the year, each one varying in length. Therefore, to mark special dates, we use the day of the month, regardless of how many days it has actually been.
  • Question
What should I get my girlfriend for one month anniversary ?
    Ally Jo
    Community Answer
Perhaps a necklace, and then take her out to a dinner and a movie. Try to make to reservations as early as possible so when you come you don't have to stand and wait.
