How to Reconnect Your Bank

Tap the Me tab in the Venmo app. To fix the "lost connection with your bank" error, you'll need to remove and reconnect your account .

Remove your bank account or card. Tap the account for which you received the "lost connect" error, tap Remove , and follow the on-screen instructions to unlink it .

Tap Add a bank or card . You'll see this under the plus (+) on the Me tab.

Select Bank . You'll be asked if you want to add your bank account with Plaid or verify it manually.
- Plaid is a safe service that instantly verifies your bank account so you can send Venmo funds immediately. You will need to enter your online banking login information to verify with Plaid.
- If your bank doesn't support Plaid, or you prefer not to use a third-party service, you can add your bank info manually. Manual verification can take 1 to 3 business days, and you won't be able to send funds in the meantime.

Select Next to add your bank with Plaid. If you use Plaid, you can instantly reconnect your bank account and send money immediately.
- If you want to verify manually, tap Verify bank manually
, then follow the on-screen instructions to enter your bank account details. Venmo will deposit two small amounts (less than $1) into your bank account within 3 business days. When you receive the deposits:
- Return to the Venmo app and tap Me .
- Select the unconfirmed bank under "Banks and cards."
- Tap Verify and enter the two small amounts deposited by Venmo into the "Amount" fields.

Tap Continue and follow the on-screen instructions. Search for and select your bank, and then follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your online banking account and verify the connection. Once confirmed, your bank will be reconnected and ready to use.
- If your bank doesn't support Plaid, you'll be prompted to verify your account manually.
