Once you reach Level 8 in the Sims Freeplay, your Sim can give birth to a beautiful baby! All you have to do is purchase a crib, place it in your home, then choose the type of pregnancy journey for them. Keep reading to find out how to have babies in the Sims Freeplay, plus earn Maternity Tokens and Baby Bonuses.
Things You Should Know
- Complete the Two and a Half Sims Quest and A Bump-y ride Quest to access pregnancy and babies in the Sims Freeplay.
- Buy a crib and place it in your home. Click on the crib, hit the “+” icon, then choose the “Pregnancy Journey” button to earn rewards and have a baby in 9 days.
- Alternatively, select the “Pregnancy” button to have a baby in 6 days, or the “Add a Baby” button to have a baby in 24 hours.

Complete the Two and a Half Sims Quest and A Bump-y Ride Quest. Level 8 in the Sims Freeplay unlocks both of these quests, as well as pregnancy and babies. [1] X Research source Adult female sims can give birth once you’ve completed all of the tasks, which may include:
- Be nice to a Sim.
- Expand or create a room.
- Spend 450 Simoleons on wallpaper and flooring.
- Read “Better Farms and Cradles” magazine.
- Have a double shot of coffee.
- Watch Dr. Cots on TV.
- Build the Children’s Store.
- Build the Maternity Store.
- Have a doctor explain pregnancies.
- Talk pregnancies with a Sim.
- Purchase maternity outfits from the maternity store.

Purchase and place a crib in your home. Click on the home store in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, then select the infant section. Choose a crib and place it in a room of your choice. [2] X Research source
- If you’re placing the crib next to a wall, make sure the “roof” of the crib is facing the wall.

Click on the crib, hit the “+” icon, and choose “Pregnancy Journey.” Select the Sim you want to get pregnant in your household—they do not have to be married or engaged. Use 2 Lifestyle Points to purchase and start the Pregnancy Event. [3] X Research source
- The Pregnancy Event takes 9 days to complete, with each day representing one month of pregnancy.

Complete Daily Goals and Support Tasks to earn rewards. Every day, click on the pregnant person icon on top of your crib to access your Daily Goals and Support Tasks. If you complete all of them during the pregnancy, your new baby receives Baby Bonuses for life, like earning more XP and completing actions faster, and you get Maternity Tokens, which can be used to buy maternity clothes and nursery items. - Some Daily Goals include:
- Grab some cake from the fridge and eat it.
- Ask for a hug to help deal with mood swings.
- Sit on a couch and contemplate the upcoming pregnancy.
- Discuss ways to ease morning sickness with another Sim.
- Use a phone to call a doctor to your home to check on the baby’s progress.
- Some Support Tasks include:
- Knit woolies.
- Plan a baby budget.
- ‘Like’ a Simterest post.
- Practice calming a tired Sim.
- Practice preparing baby formula.
- Some Daily Goals include:

Select “Go to Cot” at the end of the 9-day Pregnancy Event. Click on the pregnant person icon above your crib, then select “Have Baby.” Even if you haven’t completed all of the Daily Goals and Support Tasks, your baby will be born at the end of the 9-day event. [5] X Research source

Customize your baby Sim and add them to your household. Once your baby is born, choose its name, gender, skin tone, and outfit. Then, select the “Add Sim” button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to place them in the game. [6] X Research source
- Alternatively, select the “Tap to Randomize Sim” button near the bottom right corner of the screen to get an automated baby.

- This event takes 6 days to complete, and your Sim will have a growing bump along their pregnancy journey.
- Unlike the 9-day Pregnancy Event, you do not complete daily tasks or goals, so you cannot earn Maternity Points. At the end of 6 days, a new baby will automatically appear.

Choose “Go to Cot” at the end of the 6-day Pregnancy. Select the pregnant person icon above your crib, and hit the “Have Baby” button. Your Sim will probably look distressed because they’re going into labor. [9] X Research source

Customize your new baby and add them to your household. Once the new baby is born, you will be directed to a new page, where you can choose its name, gender, skin tone, and outfit. After you’ve made your selections, click the “Add Sim” button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to place them in the game. [10] X Research source

Select the “Go to Cot” button after 24 hours. After this time period, a banner will appear announcing the end of your Sim’s pregnancy journey. Click on the pregnant person icon above your crib, and select “Have Baby.”
