You may want to use grape seed oil in place of the olive oil for acne-prone skin.
  • Question
    Do I moisturize after exfoliating?
    Community Answer
Yes, ideally you should wash, exfoliate, and moisturize, in that order.
  • Question
Should I exfoliate with oil and sugar if I have oily skin?
    Community Answer
All skin needs oil. If you have extremely oily skin, you'll want to use a face wash that has more alcohol content (to dry out the skin) before doing this. Don't use too much olive oil, either. Before exfoliating, put a hot or warm rag over your face to open your pores, wash with warm water, and then place a cool or cold rag over your face to close your pores. Then do the exfoliating process and rinse with lukewarm water. After that, once again set the cool/cold rag on your face to close your pores again.

  • Question
Can I do this every day?
    Community Answer
Exfoliation is better down periodically, not daily, as doing it too frequently can irritate your skin.
  • Question
Is this good for oily skin?
    Community Answer
It is not good for you if you have excessively oily skin, as applying more oil only clogs the pores and results in pimples.
  • Question
How would I know whether my skin is too oily or too dry?
    Community Answer
Oily skin appears shiny, with large pores. Having too-dry skin may leave redness or lack of elasticity. Dry skin is sometimes flaky, easily irritated, rough or dull. It is helpful to know whether you have dry, oily, combination or normal skin before using different types of exfoliators and moisturizers.
  • Question

  • Question
