Knowing how to accept an apology in writing is helpful in both professional and personal situations. If you are a telecommuter who communicates with your supervisors or coworkers via email, you may need to learn this skill.     • Alternatively, try: “It was your responsibility to make sure things went smoothly that day, but I realize now that I should have made sure you had more help.”
  5. Make it clear if you want to end the relationship with them. Or, let them know you are ready to move past the incident in question. If it is a business relationship, you may need to let the person know you will no longer be working with them. If it is a more personal relationship, you should let them know if and when you would like to see them or talk to them again. For example:
